I have to digitally design a logo for a tee-shirt. Help?

Posted on February 13th, 2010 by admin in tee shirt design | 3 Comments »

I already havea mock up of the design, but I don’t know how to design something on the computer. Is there an easy way? A program I can use? I have to save it as a pdf afterwards…
Got some advice?
do you mean adobe photoshop?

Is there a photoshop program I can download?

Photoshop works very very well, I use to do stuff like that. And you can save it as a pdf

PhotoShop is the industry standard for designers and has a high learning curve. If you haven’t used it before, I wouldn’t recommend starting with PhotoShop.

If your design is simple with geometric shapes that don’t require a lot of manipulation, Microsoft PowerPoint may be an easier option. It has a pallet of basic shapes, fills, levels of transparency, alignment tools, and text that can be inserted as text or manipulated as word art. It too has a learning curve but it’s not as steep as the Adobe products, and is probably included with your MS Office software. You can also save as a pdf document.

Go ahead and finish the work on paper, if that is a comfortable media for you. When done, you can scan it or have it scanned at a local copyshop. Have it saved as a .pdf.

    Once scanned, it IS digital.

The next step depends on how it is to be printed. If you plan to give the digital file to a commercial shirt printer, they can do what is needed to print it.

If you plan to print it yourself, using an iron-on transfer, be sure to have the image inverted so it appears backwards on the monitor and in the print. You can easily do this or have this done when it is scanned.
