Printing your own T shirt designs?

Posted on December 16th, 2009 by admin in shirt designs | 2 Comments »

Anyone have any idea on how to print designs on your t shirt? Cheap ways and expensive ways. Because I’m planning to sell. Just plain t shirt with simple design, not so big. Mainly just text and a graphic maybe. What are the different ways and pros and cons. Any idea is welcome. Thanks!

Yep .. as soon as they finish their maintenance i think cafe press will work out the best for you.

    There are various techniques:
    -Screen Printing
    -Rubber Transfers
    -Ink jet Transfers
are some of the most common.

The cheapest is the Ink Jet transfer- here is you can even print ONE tee shirt. You get special inks which are used in ink jet printers and then you ‘iron it on’ to the tee shirt. You will need a computer, a printer and an iron, and the right ink and material. Visit a site where you can get info about ink jet printers made by HP.
Pros: You need the equipment, and knowledge of how to design on a computer.
Cons: the transfers may not be long lasting.

The other techniques I mentioned are a bit more complicated and are to be used when you have some quantity to make- the cost needs to be amortized over those many pieces.

    Hope this ’simple’ answer helps.
