Shirt Designs

I would like to be able to purchase shirts at wholesale and sell them locally and online. What kind of licenses and permits will we need to be able to establish ourselves as a company?

You will need a FEIN, a TIN, a resell certificate from your state, and a sales tax ID. You MIGHT have to have a local business permit, depending on where you live….

   You will need to:

   Decide on a business structure (sole proprietorship/Partnership/LLC/SCorp/Corporation)
   Register your business name
   Register with your state if there are state taxes where you live
   Apply for a retailer’s business license from your town/city/county

   If you will have no employees, you should be all set to go. Also, please utilize your local SCORE chapter. They provide free business advice.

   You would need a vendor’s license.

   But keep in mind that you’re not selling anything different than what the major stores are selling. People are also commonly weary of buying clothes from street stands, because many of them are rip offs of the real brand. I’d suggest creating your own designs.
