Where can I get People to Make my T-shirt Designs?

I have some cool T-shirt designs I’ve made and was wondering if there is a company on the web that takes amateur designs and sells them, giving me some of the profit.

There are print on demand services that can put your uploaded design on items as orders are filled, so the expense of production runs and maintaining inventory is avoided. Zazzle.com and Cafepress are a couple. I’ve looked into Zazzle where you can setup an online store and set the prices to whatever markup over the base cost that you choose. These sites are not the cheapest but useful for testing small volume sales.

Getting people to your little store is the real challenge, they are probably best for something like bands who can direct fans to the site.

I have my doubts that you could get an established tshirt dealer to licence your design, there are too many un-copyrighted ideas they can copy.

Are shirt designs made for a clothing company legally contracted?

So there’s this one company who has designers do shirt designs with the company’s logo on the shirt. They printed one designer’s shirt and apparently they changed the colors of the shirt drastically. The designer got mad and said that they were in a contract that they could not change the colors of the shirt. But since it was for the clothing company can’t they do whatever colors they want? or do they have to respect the designer’s wishes?

it depends what the contract states. what ever is written in black and white is what should be followed if the terms of the contract are broken then that can lead to a law suit but if no such things were stated in the contract like switching the color and what not im sure that shuldnt be an issue and just depends if the company wants to respect the other companies whishes and concerns about how they handle their product ….. btw your really pretty

What medium to use to draw designs on a plain t-shirt?

Hello people. I am thinking of doing t-shirt designs on my own since it’s a bit hard to find and buy t-shirts with my favourite logos, writings etc. Now, what kind of medium or ink or pen do I use to draw those designs on a plain t-shirt? Also, I don’t want the ink to run whenever I wash it or if I sweat (I want them to be permanently drawn on my shirt). Thank you for your help.

My friend and I have 2 ideas for t-shirts.Both with pictures and sayings, unisex.Whats the best way to get the shirts made and successfully distributed?Should we try to have them available special order over the internet, or just make the "prototype" design and sell the design to a shirt company with more overhead to work with? We have limited funds to work with.

How would someone sell designs on the internet? Instead of selling the shirt itself, I just want to sell designs or graphics for the shirt.

You can sell t-shirts at the following websites, plus you can buy your own t-shirts that you created as well. You upload a high resolution image of your artwork and the company will reproduce the artwork as t-shirts and other items. They will create and ship the items to your customers and pay you when someone buys your items. Also, do your research and make sure the company is reputable before giving out your personal information!

Is it ok to use symbols or characters from movies or video games as t-shirt designs?

I started an online shirt store, and design my own graphics. I have seen many shirts out there with symbols or characters from video games or movies (i.e. hot topic, online t-shirt sites like ninja-bot.com), and just wondered if I can use these as well, original image or modified, or do I need to contact the source of the image and get consent? Even if it is a parody of the image? I have some good ideas for graphics, but I dont want to break some copyright laws or anything. example: could I take the heartless symbol from kingdom hearts and put it on a shirt, or is that a copyrighted symbol needing consent?

PS- a friend told me that as long as it is a parody of the image its ok, but I wasnt totally sure about this.

If you change the image, I would think it would be fine, but honestly the situation would be kind of risky still and if I were you I would stay well away from it. When you use an image intending for it to look like the characters/symbols straight from movies or video games, you could get into serious trouble. Profiting off of someone else’s copyrighted design is punishable by law and if you don’t have their express permission, your site will get shut down and you may get sued.
