How do I design graphics and lettering for t-shirts?
I have some t-shirt ideas that I would like to try and sell on cafepress.com or similar website. The trouble is, I don’t know where to start! Does anyone know of good software for designing graphical designs from scratch? Does anyone already design t-shirts on cafepress and can tell me what you use? Any help is appreciated, I really want to get my ideas out!
You are probably looking for software like Inkscape or Gimp. Both are freeware. Inkscape is a vector program and gimp is like photoshop.
I myself sell shirts on cafepress. I use Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop for my designs. Probably most people sell something at cafepress work with those 4 programs.
If you have a look at my site (it’s in the sources) you can see the what I have worked out with Illustrator and co.

well, for starters, i might go for sketching my designs onto paper.
then scan them into the computer.
then i would use like photoshop and stuff to really bring out my designs like
choosing the colors,
bold out the outlines
or just add more details onto my design.
you can also download like brushes and stuff which are awesomeee
and download other awesome text fonts besides the usual boring ones already in the computer xD
thats how i do it anyways
so good luck there mate! ^____^
