How to create a digital image for a t-shirt design?

Posted on September 28th, 2009 by admin in design at shirt | 2 Comments »

I’m designing a t-shirt for something at my school and the directionas are that you need to have it in a digital format. How do you do that? do you need special programs?

Yes, you need to use a program such as Adobe Photoshop (you can get a 30 day trial, which should suit your purpose here) to create an image and save it as a JPG, PNG, or TIFF (whichever file extension they recommend).

I provided a link to the trial download as well as a link to some basic tutorials on getting started.

Photoshop is good, I like GIMP at gimp.org, it’s easy and free to download. Actually, very popular. Check it out!

You can see some designs using gimp on our site!
