If I make a T Shirt design do I have any protection from someone copying it?

I have a print that I created and I dont want a company to take it once it is out. So I just wanted to know what are the steps to protecting my design.

This way you have a third party to proof you are the copyright owner.

Good luck.

When you create an image, you automatically have a copyright. However, to get the protection of law you need to register the copyright. Someone might tell you to use a "poor man’s copyright" (such as mailing a copy of the image to yourself with certified mail so you can prove you had the image earlier than they did), but that is a legal fiction. The courts only recognize a registered copyright.
