Why do custom t-shirt designs have to be in vector format?
I don’t understand why designs have to be in .eps or .ai for some screen printing companies. Also, I have a design and is in .psd format and it is a huge image, it could probably be large enough to cover a 5 foot wall. Could that work for a t-shirt company to print with? Thanks!
All depends on the company. Vector images are much easier to resize without losing the clarity since the image is based on math equations and not pixel locations.
Are you saying you have a 60 inch image in Photoshop? If so, you must have a ton of RAM. Some print shop can work off .jpg and other images you just have to find the right one.
Can I use corporate logos as a print for t shirt designs?
For example I’d like to make a shirt with the logo of Microsoft, Toyota, or Walmart as a basic design.
"No’`!! That would’nt be wise to do !! As I see it you may be burnt on both ends in this matter !?! See: It might be possible that you could be taken to court for 1.) a mis`leading use of what’s called CORPRATE… lets call it what it can be seen as !?! OK? ..By using a company logo on YOURr clothes & possible other things..it just may be possible that some could get a thought of certain work-places mis`handling of monies!?! The advertising as they’d think or see it may be in poor taste/un`apealing!?!again possibly having people or other companies see certain advertisments in another light !?! maybe an un`attractive light!?! Maybe slowing a level of a sales pitch that may have said companies to miss out on certain deals!?!& the way people use the justice system !?! ;-/ "WALK AS IF IT`s ON HOT PINS & NEEDLES when working on,with ot doing tOo anything that you cannot match the purse a compant has do to what WAS a good sale pitch !! " Do’nt mess with it,that, them !! you might end up in hot water & or possibly having to cough up atleast a fraction of the sales they missed out on!?! just because you wanted to see what would happen !?! lol.. But I guess if Y O U are’nt trying to make monies displaying, using or advertising falslely.. if you can prove it.. you may get off with just a warning !?!

What are some good t shirt designs for a school without seniors?
There is a new school being built and Im going to it And there aren’t any seniors or juniors. Since the senior class always makes class t shirts we wanted to make t shirts to kinda make fun of the fact that we don’t have seniors. Any ideas?
Ex. Front: Got seniors?
Back: We don’t.
What’s wrong with your idea? I like it. You could also do something about senioritis coming early…now the sophomores will be getting it! Sophomoritis?
How would you describe the market of art designing (such as t-shirt designs, t-shirts, facial portraits etc.)?
Or can you at least give me a link with some helpful information? I’ll reward 10 points to the first one with helpful information.
Its been awhile but I know Vans, No Fear, etc. used to accept submissions for Tshirt designs and paid 200-300 per. if they liked em. But its been awhile..
But go check out istockphoto.com and see whats selling. Anybody can sell their art and photos. I’m a designer and we buy illustrations off there all the time. Its basically high-quality clip art. Like if I need an illustration of an apple and orange, its cheaper to pay 5 bucks that spend an hour or so drawing it myself.
I recommend you learn Illustrator if you don’t already. The good part is if people dig your stuff, you can sell it again and again.

How do i sell my t-shirt designs to big company’s?
I already design, produce and sell my tshirt designs using cafepress and mysoti, and promote on facebook n myspace, but i want to start aprocahing big companys like Criminal damage, attitude clothing etc with the aim of selling on my designs to them, eg free lance design for their products, how do i do this, how do they source new designs etc.
Afraid you have to go to them
That means selling or salesmanship
In effect you have to learn to sell (not easy) or hire a salesman
Cold selling of an unknown product is possibly one of the most soul destroying jobs going & finding a salesman may not be easy
I wish you luck I admire anyone who tries to make a go of things
So refreshing after reading so much about unemployment & benefits
which photoshop software should i use if i want to make shirt designs?
i’m designing hoodies for my team so i need a software that’s easy to use. (: theres so many versions of photoshop and i don’t know which one to use. suggestions please?
Photoshop Elements 7 is a good place to get started (plus you can buy it for less than $100). You can also download a trial of it at adobe.com
I have some great ideas for T-shirt designs but I am not a great artist. Where should I start?
I own a screen printing company, and I have a couple of AWESOME artists that can work with you to put your ideas on cotton! Shoot me an email, we can talk.

Is it illegal to sell t-shirt transfers of trademarked designs?
There’s some guy on ebay selling designs on t-shirt transfers for like $5. They are designs of like video games like a resident evil picture that is clearly from the box minus the words. Is that legal or would it be like copyrighted or something? I was wondering because I had once wanted to sell those but figured it was illegal.
Also, do you know if it’s illegal to draw a picture of a trademarked design and sell it?
It is illegal if you do not have express permission to do so. You can obtain licensing rights to reproduce logos, covers, etc., but it can be very expensive.
