Instead of selling the shirt itself, I just want to sell designs or graphics for the shirt.

You can sell t-shirts at the following websites, plus you can buy your own t-shirts that you created as well. You upload a high resolution image of your artwork and the company will reproduce the artwork as t-shirts and other items. They will create and ship the items to your customers and pay you when someone buys your items. Also, do your research and make sure the company is reputable before giving out your personal information!

I would recommend a Photoshop like program for that sort of thing. If you don’t already have one or don’t have the money to buy one, there’s an online photoshop program called Pixlr. [pixlr.com] It’s browser based, so you don’t need to download anything, and it has all the same functions as regular Photoshop. Then there’s also Gimp, which is a downloadable photoshop if you prefer something on your computer and not attached to the internet. You can download Gimp at http://www.gimp.org/downloads/ and you can usually find new brushes you can download from around the internet, and sometime from Deviant Art.

There are companies like ZOOm which print photos on the Tshirts…. you have give order with a photograph in one of these.

it easy just print your design through Photoshop or Coreldraw and load paper on to the printer..It will be good if printer have a pigment ink for good color and long lasting color..Print graphic on paper ..
load blank t shirt on heat press put paper onto top of t shirt and press Heat for 40 sec at 350f..

Designing T-shirts is fun and exciting!. There are a lot of creative things you can do with T-shirts. Plus they are relatively expensive to get made. Therefore, how do you go about designing your own T-shirts and maybe even starting your own T-shirt line?

1. You need a graphics program to create your T-shirt Artwork. We recommend Digital Fashion Pro for this task. You can create embroidery, screen printing or even artwork for flocking designs.

2. You need a program that you can put your designs onto the T-shirts on your computer so you can see how the design will look on the T-shirt before you get it made. Digital Fashion Pro – Fashion Design Software can also help you in this area.

3. After creating your hot T-shirt designs – the illustration of it and the actual artwork – you are ready to approach a screen printing / embroidery shop or a garment manufacturer.

4. But wait – there’s more. Getting a few T-shirts printed up is fine. If you want to get more serious than that – and really start your own T-shirt Line – you should invest in the 3 Book Starting a Clothing Line Course offered by Harper Arrington. Since you are just starting out and the work is for friends and family, you should probably charge less than you will for clients a few years from now. You should figure out an hourly rate that’s fair for an entry level designer in your geographic location, then base your prices off of that. I almost never send an estimate based off my hourly fee, I just change it to a flat fee. For example, if I charge $25 per hour and I think a business card will take me 2 hours, I don’t show the client 2 hours @ $25, I show them a flat fee of $50. People don’t seem to understand the concept of time when it comes to design, they often question why something would take so long because they don’t understand the process we go through as designers. However, when you show them a flat fee they seem to associate that with finished piece instead of the time it took to make it, so they are always happy with that.

Here’s what I would have charged as an entry level designer in the SF bay area, CA, including the initial concepts and revisions:
Business card: $50
Flyer: $75
Shirt: $50
Logo: $100
Invitations: $100
Banners:$50

You need a vector program. Adobe Illustrator is the most popular, but it’s expensive. I use a free one called Inkscape that’s really good, just search for it and you’ll find it!
