How to make your own shirt designs?!!?

Posted on November 4th, 2009 by admin in design your own t shirt | 2 Comments »

My friend and I are thinking of starting a shirt company, just for fun and to see if it’ll take off and if we can make some money…thing is we dont know where to start…

right now were just buying white v-necks and using a stencil with our own design and spray paint for clothing, is there a better method? like screen ironing? and where can we find realitivly cheap, high quality white shirts/v-necks? and what would be a good price…like $12 or $15
and how would we advertise…should we make a myspace for it? and any other advice would be VERY helpful, thanks
keep in mind we are both 17 so we dont have a ton of cash to put into this…also what program would you suggest using for our shirt designs if we do start printing them?

find the shirts at american apparel.

go to your nearest craft store, iron on or stencil will work, just find something that works for you.

Is there a website where I can design my own shirt?

Posted on October 28th, 2009 by admin in design your own t shirt | 2 Comments »

no a t-shirt but a halter top or a blouse.
I’m looking for a website that already has samples and I can make changes to it like the color or texture and then simply place an order. Is there a website or a place out there that has this service?

I know that you can like, print it out but what kind of paper do you need? how much does it cost and where can i get some?
also, do you just iron the picture on with a regular iron or do you need a special iron?
if so, where can i get the iron and how much does it cost?

thanks. (:

Hi there! You can get the TRANSFER PAPER FOR T-SHIRTS at any office supply store and SOMETIMES Wal mart carries it.

I believe the package is like 13$ but i’m not positive on that.

You can just use your regular iron once you print the image out!

Hope this helps!!

How To Start Your Own T Shirt Company?

I’m good at graphics and have a knowledge of textiles. How do I combine the two to design my own t-shirts and/or start my own t-shirt company? All constructive answers are welcome.

1. Vision. Define your strengths (eg., graphics + textiles). This will define how you market your product, how it looks over all, and all the little details within that you need to do.

2. Marketing. It’s essential in today’s design world. You might have a good product but if its weak on branding, labeling, packaging, shelf appeal, matching coat hangers, etc., it’ll look bad. Consistency also needs to be achieved across the spectrum including same font, same style, etc. Designing is totally open to new creations and ideas, so anything goes, but there are some boundaries that you don’t want to cross, while others you need to break through.

3. Online selling. Very possible if you use Ebay, Zazzle or know how to set up an E-commerce website yourself. Lots of people shop online now, you just need to know how to market it right and get your products noticed.

4. Promo. Get it out there! Make sure your friends buy your products or you could give out freebies. Put stickers, advertising your shop, wherever you can. Be proactive because designers are really admired, especially if your product is favorable.

design and make my own shirt?

I’m not too fond of the same clothes you see in stores. I’d like to design my own clothes. I will sew just to make my own shirt :|

any sites with some help and stuff?

There are some books available. Once, I saw one involving 1,000 ways or something like that to change a regular old t-shirt into something else. I enjoyed looking at the styles they displayed in there. You can also go to the design-your-clothing online sites where they charge you. Or, you can go over to the fabric section in Walmart or some other store and check out the patterns that they have available. McCall’s is a good brand. Then, you can also choose the fabrics and colors you want for your shirt. They have a lot of cute patterns, and you can always alter them if you don’t like something.

I was gonna make some T-shirts,but how???

Design what you want and either take it to a sign and graphics shop and have them screen print it or put it in vinyl (depending on how much detail there is) or you could buy those T-shirt transfer sheets and do it yourself.

What are some good websites that allow you to design your own shirts and buy them in bulk?

I know zazzle.com does it, but I was wondering if there were any websites that offer more options with their shirts (colors etc), and websites that do it for cheaper.

Thanks in advance!
