What does the ‘base color’ of a t-shirt design mean?

Posted on December 30th, 2010 by admin in shirt design | 7 Comments »

(Pardon for my bad grammar..)

This may sound a little noobish but I have little knowledge about designing a tshirt so I have no idea what base color means. Is it the color of the shirt? Or maybe color of the design?

What does it mean when it says " The design must be on a white and grey base." ?

HELP PLEASE :P

It’s the basic underlying color of the fabric

What was the Fleet Foxes T-shirt design being sold at Coachella this year?

Posted on December 28th, 2010 by admin in shirt design | 1 Comment »

I went to Coachella, but I did not see the Fleet Foxes shirt that was being sold. The person I was with was disappointed they sold out of her size, and I would like to give it as a gift. If you could provide a link to the design (if you know of one) it would be amazingly helpful. Thanks all!

hope this helps!

how can I make a T-shirt Design that the design is the fabric?

Posted on December 26th, 2010 by admin in shirt design | 1 Comment »

I would Like to start designing clothes for myself and I would like to know how can I make a design that the Shirt itself would be the design. I’m sorry I have a hard time Explaining Myself. I’m looking for a Fading design that would go from one color to the other.
How can I find a manufacturer that Could make it?

i don’t think u’ll get a manufacturer to do it for u unless u want it in bulk. your best bet is a textile student if u just want a design on a t shirt(something printed onto a t shirt) if you want to design the actual pattern(structure) for the t shirt….i hope u know pattern cutting…could get someone to do that for u 2 tho.

i do fashion design and if we wanted something printed or embroidered onto a fabric we wud have to go to textiles and get them to show us what to do.this is fairly high end stuff tho.

if ur just looking to make ur own logo 4 a t shirt u can use a computer to make the design then print it off onto iron transfers.

good luck.

I made a Graphic t-shirt design using adobe illustrator, how much would it cost to get that one shirt printed?

The shirt design is a bit complicated and consists of over ten colors, I want to get the print using either a silk screen method or hot press onto the shirt. If you know how much either would cost for one shirt please give me an estimate.

If you have the design on a "flash drive" just take it to a sign or graphics print shop and they will load it into their machines.
Depending on the shop and how much setup they have to do, the setup charges can range from $50 – $100 and each print should cost about $2.

I sell tshirts too but i do it online and it is way easier. http://williamson138.spreadshirt.com/ is the site that I use

What to put on an environmental tee shirt?

My environmental club needs a new tee shirt design. Our motto is "hike, bike, trolley or bus on fridays." What images and things would you put on it?

earth green shirt with a a tree being reflected bo the water. Not in too detailed a way, kind of silhouette like. Or maybe just a faded, vintage recycle symbol

Is it legal to use a font as part of a design on a t-shirt for an online store such as zazzle or redbubble?

Posted on December 15th, 2010 by admin in shirt design | 1 Comment »

I made an illustration of an elephant holding a beachball and I want to use MyriadPro above my illustration for the text "Elephun". Is it legal to use MyriadPro as a font on this t-shirt design I plan to sell on a site such as Zazzle or Redbubble?

no idea what myriadpro is, but i do know that you cannot duplicate a font. for example, you cannot use the "godfather" font, even if it spells something else. typically, if you can tell where the font was originally used, its illegal…there can be NO similarity. you may still be able to use them on the sites mentioned, depending on how well they screen incoming images. if they catch on, they will probably just take the images down without going after you. you will get a warning.

What is a good program for making a T-Shirt design?

Posted on December 14th, 2010 by admin in shirt design | 1 Comment »

I want to make a t-shirt, with text only, and I don’t want to use a website where you design it, then order it. So what is a good computer program I could use to make a t-shirt design, then put on transfer paper?

If you’re using text only, then use illustrator because the letters will print more crisp than photoshop.

If I use a font on a tee-shirt design, not a company logo, is that considered commercial use?

Posted on December 11th, 2010 by admin in tee shirt design | 2 Comments »

I’m thinking about starting to design t-shirts. I do all the designs in Adobe Photoshop. If I downloaded fonts from Dafont.com and used them on a t-shirt design, not a company logo, is that considered commercial use.

Also, if a font says free, not free for personal use, is it free for commercial use as well?

It seems to me that this would be a commercial use because it is development of something you will sell. You are creating a product. Likewise, there could be clauses and restrictions in their terms of service that prohibit free things for commercial use.
The best and safest way is to simply ask them forthrightly and get the answer. If they say OK save the e-mail forever.

How can I make a design for a t-shirt on the computer?

I am doing this contest for peta2 and I want to know how I can make a virtual t-shirt design? I am so lost please help?

Just make the design on paint or photoshop, then go to a website that makes t shirts, send them the pic, pay them the money, and you’ll have a custom t shirt.
