What is the best way to make custom shirt designs that are strongly artistic?

Posted on October 31st, 2010 by admin in shirt designs | 1 Comment »

Ive been looking in a career as a graphic designer and was looking into starting my own brand….have lots of ideas drawn up and just having trouble finding the best way to make these shirts cause some of them are really detailed….i would like professional advise or help

You need to learn the process of screen printing… That is the best way of going around this sort of thing. You could also look into clothing manufacturers and how much they charge for designs on shirts. You do know a lot of graphic designers start branding but this is not strictly graphic design. Graphic design is all about the balance between form and function. form which is the style and function relating to the message you are conveying. T-shirt design is more fashion related… You could first think about how you are going to get these t shirts made… then think of a brand and develop that. That’s when you can make a website and people start to buy your stuff. its all about content and if the things you sell have a good meaning… not just a pretty shirt. that’s the difference between 10 a month and 100 a day. good luck

What’s a website where you can design your own t-shirt?

Posted on October 28th, 2010 by admin in design your own t shirt | 2 Comments »

I’m looking for a website to design my own T-shirt, but with no minimum number of shirts required to order because I only want my one shirt (not 6 or 12, etc). Preferably I’m looking for the woman’s 3/4 sleeve Raglan-style. Please help! Thanks!

Zazzle has really cute Raglan-style 3/4 sleeve shirts. You can see an example of what one looks like here… http://www.zazzle.com/cherry_shirt-235882139689118617?gl=jasminesphotography&style=ladies_fitted_raglan&color=whiteblack&view=front&group=womens&lifestyle=fashion&rf=238492371037518519

Just go to the site and design it yourself and order it.

What is the cheapest site you can design your own shirts on?

I want to design my own shirt, and have it shipped to me in Canada, but I don’t want to spend a fortune. Where’s a site where you can design your own shirt and have it shipped to Canada? Does anyone know the cheapest site?

have a try on this:
http://www.popfashionmall.com/product/se…
as they provide many kinds of shirts,it is convenient for you to search.and you can also ask the people who provide service for help.maybe you can DIY your shirts.i means you can describe the shirts you want, and order them to make one .sounds a good news.have a try.come on
forget to tell you,it is a free shipping online store, what’s more we can get many discounts from when we place more than two items in a order and if one order has five items we can get the wholesale price .I think it is hard to find one website better than it and it is worth for you to have a look.I believe this website will solve your all problems.

If I wanted to design a shirt for band at our school what pictures can I use?

Posted on October 28th, 2010 by admin in design at shirt | 4 Comments »

I was planning on using stock photos and renders in photoshop, but I don’t know if that is against the law or anything. Am I allowed to find pictures off a website and edit them and put them on the shirt? I would appreciate any answers involving websites that I could use pics from and all of that. Thanks.

Actually, to touch on what Kevin said…100% of the images on the web, and for that matter, 100% of the photos taken are copyrighted. The second you take a photo, you own the copyright to it.

Now, the photographer may allow free use of it, but he still retains the copyright.

With that said on other thing to look at is who is going to print your tshirts. Ask them what format they want the images in. Some may want them in Photoshop layer format, some may accept a jpg, others may want it in TIFF or Illustrator format.

Giving them the image in the format they want can help keep your costs down.

Where do I begin with my new shirt design?

Me and my buddy had a really great idea for a shirt design, (I don’t want to show what it looks like because it isn’t patented yet), and we have printed out how we would want it to look. Everyone I have shown the designs to agrees that it is very original and is a great idea for a shirt. Outside of getting actual shirts made, where should we go from there? How do we get these shirts and into stores to start making the big bucks? This shirt is guaranteed to sell quite well if I can just figure out where to start.

If I were you, I’d team up with a company that’s able to put your idea into motion and make it reality. I have some friends with a screen printing business who are extremely talented and always open to partnering up with good ideas. You can email them at www.grscreenprinting.com Perhaps they can sign a confidentiality form before you reveal your shirt idea to them. Good luck!!

What program could I use to keep an inventory of t-shirts and log and find them based on color design size etc?

Posted on October 28th, 2010 by admin in design shirts | 3 Comments »

I would like to have an intuitive program that can keep an inventory of shirts based on the design, shirt color, ink color, size, and location.

You can try to use Golden Inventory System. You’ll be able enter color, size, model and other parameters for each your item. It’s a free download software.
Or use the online MatrixNet system for clothes business. But you have to have a web server with ASP.Net for installation this system

What is a great t shirt design for an art club?

Posted on October 28th, 2010 by admin in shirt design | 2 Comments »

We’re trying to figure out what design is good for a t shirt for our art club.
Thanks.

I would try and stay away from being TOO cliche. Don’t illustrate paint, or paint brushes or any other art tools. I’d definitely make sure that it has great contrast in color and value. How realist or abstract it is should depend on the general views and the favor of your art club members. You could even mix the two. MAYBE if you really do want to incorporate artist tools you could probably have a a painters palette with monochromatic faces in the different colored paints or a paintbrush diagonally across the front/back with a drop of paint (i’d go with rainbow paint or your school’s main color!) and have something symbolic in it or even the word art, or the words art club. You can play with these ideas based on the skills of the artist in the club? Does that help?? Llz!!

Posted on October 28th, 2010 by admin in shirt designs | 4 Comments »

So I’m a guy (teenager) so I was bored with my t-shirts so I was wondering if I would change all my t-shirts. Are there any t-shirt brands that have unique designs and sort of bright colors?
Can you mention some jean brands also?

You should definitely try Volcom. There t shirts have awesome designs. As far as jeans I have no idea.
